In biological classification, Vormela  is a genus of mustelid which contains the marbled polecat (Vormela peregusna), and at least one extinct species.

Distributed in Russia, Mongolia and northwest my country. The body length is 29 to 38 cm, the tail length is 15 to 22 cm, and the weight is 370 to 715 grams. The male is larger than the female. They live in deserts and semi-desert grasslands, dig burrows, and also use the burrows of other animals.

living habits

Nocturnal and twilight activity. It is good at climbing, but mainly moves on the ground, preying on rats, birds, lizards, etc. Except for the breeding season, they are solitary. Litters are born in February to March, with a gestation period of about 9 weeks, and each litter has 4 to 8 litters. Under feeding conditions, the lifespan is about 9 years. Although the distribution area is wide, the population density is low, and the number has always been very rare.
